Chicago Cubs Baseball

It’s opening day at Wrigley Field. The Milwaukie Brewers take on the Chicago Cubs. Maddie and I are ready to watch the game. Maddie is wearing her Cubs shirt and hat that Grandpa Smith got her. The Cubs paid tribute to “Mr. Cub” Ernie Banks with a statue in front of Wrigley Field. I think this is something that was well earned and deserved. I also have read all the hype about Kosuke Fukudome, the Cubs new Right Fielder, and was anxious to see him play. His first time at bat he hit a double to center field on the first pitch. Not a bad start. Unfortunately he was left stranded on 3rd base. Then he hits a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game. But, I'm sad to say they lost anyway. The rain delays made for a long game, but it made some good photo taking time.

We have our rally caps on.

New Puppy

This is Zach, my Mom & Dad's (Gary & Pauline) new boston terrier. The toy he is playing with is about the size of a tennis ball. He is about the size of my big dog Bailey's head. That's how tiny he is! He came to visit us a couple weeks ago. The dogs got along well. They played and ran through the house. Zach is not used to the tile or wood floors, so he kept slipping and sliding (which was funny to watch).

Dog Easter Egg Hunt

Bailey & Presley had their annual Easter Egg hunt on Saturday. Bailey is a very good hunter (probably because he has 9 years of experience). It took Presley a few tries to remember what to do. When they started, Presley would just follow Bailey. Presley finally figured out what to do though - he ventured out on his own and started finding some treat-filled eggs.

Easter Weekend

Our Easter turned out to be a very busy, but fun-filled weekend. We had planned to go to Farmington Hills, MI to visit Kris’s sister Meg, her family, and their new baby boy on Friday. However, with the snow storm hitting the Indiana/Michigan border, we postponed it until Monday. On Easter Sunday we went to my brother Joey’s house and had an Easter brunch with his wife & kids, my parents, my Grandma, and Lori’s parents. We had a good time. Maddie crawled for the second time, this time going 3 steps breaking her previous record of 1.

My mom and dad (Gary and Pauline) agreed to dog-sit for us. We then left for Michigan to visit John, Meg, Caitlyn, and the new baby Aiden on Monday. We had a good time. Aiden is very cute! It’s hard for me to believe that just 7 months ago Maddie was that small. He seemed so tiny and fragile. I spent most of the time playing hide-and-seek with Caitlyn. She wanted Maddie to chase her, but since Maddie hasn’t crawled beyond 3 steps, it was a short chase.

We came home Tuesday Night. My Dad had already dropped off the dogs and they were both very happy to see us. We were all very tired. We ate dinner and took a long nap.

HAPPY EASTER!

We would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.

HAPPY EASTER!

This is Maddie's first Easter. The best way to start an Easter weekend is by coloring Easter eggs. Here are a few pics of Maddie and I coloring eggs. Well, I'm coloring and Maddie is observing. Mommy was helping, too, but she was busy taking pictures. We had a lot of fun.

Maddie In Her High Chair

Here is a picture of Maddie in her high chair for the very first time. Isn't she such a big girl? She loves to eat while she watches the Sprout network. She is eating cereal (rice and oatmeal), vegetables, and fruits now. The only thing she will not eat are green veggies (We don't blame her - they smell terrible!). We will keep trying though!
