First Time Out Without Maddie

Friday was our first time out of the house together without Maddie since she was born. We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Doug's parents and Grandma came up to watch Maddie for us. We want to give a big thank you to them. The movie was very good. It met all of our expectations.

Maddie did very well while we were gone. She played and took a nap. She did not cry at all. I think Mom, Dad, and Grandma enjoyed themselves also. However, after having her with us all the time it seemed very strange not having her there. It seemed like we were missing something.

The first few times will seem sort of weird but you will quickly learn to enjoy the time away from the little one's!! It's so relaxing to be able to go out in public and not have to tell someone "don't touch that" no less than 100 times....ugh! I'm glad your first experience was positive. You know, since Gary and Pauline had a smooth time they are going to start asking you if you guys want to go out just so they can babysit. My advice....take any opportunity you can!!!!! ha,ha,ha

Wow... I am so glad to hear that there are other parents that can not be without their baby! We have not left Liam yet either. He is only three months, but I am sure it will be a long time before we leave him. Our anniversary is Thursday and we are planning on going to dinner...... with Liam!!! I know he would be great with Mom and Dad and we trust them so much, I just can't do it yet!!!

Glad to hear you had a good time. I am sure Gary, Pauline, and Betty were SO excited to watch her!
